Britney Spears' father protests against his removal from custody of his daughter: "The court was wrong"
In the protracted battle of 39-year-old Britney Spears for freedom, an important event happened yesterday — the court removed her father Jamie Spears from the position of her guardian and thus removed from him the authority to manage, including the singer's finances. We are still talking about a temporary measure — until the end of the year, a professional auditor will be in charge of the state of the pop scene star.
However, Britney's father clearly does not intend to accept this defeat in silence. Through a proxy, the man has already given the press his comment regarding the suspension.
Mr. Spears loves his daughter Britney unconditionally. For thirteen years, he tried to do what was in her best interests, being her guardian and father. This was the case from the very beginning, when she voluntarily accepted custody and when this agreement was concluded, which included helping her to revive her career and restore relations with her children. Anyone who has had a relative with mental problems is able to understand how much effort and daily worries such help requires. Mr. Spears was also forced to bite his tongue and not respond to all the false, speculative and unfounded attacks on him by certain members of the public, the media or, more recently, Britney's own lawyer. All these facts led to the fact that yesterday's hearing was disappointing and, frankly, was a loss for Britney. The court made a mistake and did the wrong thing by removing Mr. Spears from office and appointing a stranger to manage Britney's estate in his place. Thus, the court extended the guardianship, which Britney asked to terminate this summer. Again, it was Mr. Spears who took the initiative to file a petition to terminate custody when neither Britney's former court-appointed lawyer nor her new privately hired lawyer did so. It was Mr. Spears who asked the court at yesterday's hearing to immediately terminate custody, while Britney's own lawyer objected to this,
- said in a statement provided by Spears' lawyer Vivian L. Torin.
However , the following words of Britney 's lawyer in court are quoted in the press:
Britney wants, needs and deserves an orderly transition. She has been abused by this man for the past decade and since childhood. Britney Spears testified under oath about the cruelty and toxic presence of James Spears in her life.
The decision to dismiss yesterday in the Los Angeles Supreme Court was made by Judge Brenda Penny, who oversees the custody case (in the summer, when Britney testified by phone, she communicated with Penny).
Removal from office in the interests of Britney Spears. The current situation does not stand up to criticism,
- the judge declared.
It was also announced that this court decision is not subject to appeal.
The singer's lawyer Matthew Rosengart also managed to talk to reporters and, of course, called the decision an important victory in the case.
I think you can assume that she is very happy! Our goal is to completely release Britney from custody before she turns 40 on December 2,
- said the lawyer.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for November 12 and it is expected that this is when the issue of the complete abolition of guardianship will be decided.
