Selena Gomez announced the launch of a mental health campaign

29-year-old singer and actress Selena Gomez announced the launch of a mental health media campaign called WonderMind, which starts next year. She told about this in an interview with Entrepreneur magazine.

The star will launch the campaign together with his mother — Hollywood producer Mandy Tifi - and girlfriend Daniella Pearson.

Mental health is something that is very close to me. It is very important that there is a place where people can come together and understand that they are not alone in their journey to mental health,

- Selena noted.

The campaign will feature podcasts, daily articles with tips, interviews and useful tools related to mental health.

Gomez noted the importance of mental health, describing in detail her mental problems that she faced, in particular due to criticism on social networks. Selena often became a target for haters who condemned her appearance, without hesitating in expressions. Because of the developed depression, Gomez even underwent treatment in a rehabilitation clinic and took a break from virtual communication.

Instagram made me feel like a piece of shit. I thought I didn't look and feel good enough,

Gomez shared.

When Selena temporarily left Instagram, she was the most popular person in the social network by the number of subscribers - perhaps all bloggers dream of such a status. But Gomez admits that after leaving the social network, she felt much happier.

I felt a huge relief from the feeling that I was no longer sitting in this tiny phone where people say terrible things. Why should I fill my days with this? I also began to realize that this whole world was living an unreal life. These people were perfect, beautiful and happy all the time,

- said the star.

Selena has more than 273 million followers on the social network now, and she continues to be one of the most popular people on Instagram.

In 2018, the singer was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. But the diagnosis did not upset her — the singer admitted that she was relieved, as he clarified a lot for her. Gomez openly talks about her problems in public and wants people experiencing mental problems to speak openly about them, too, thanks to her campaign, without fear of condemnation.
