Nicole Kidman accused the interviewer of sexism because of the question of marriage with Tom Cruise

Nicole Kidman accused The Guardian reporter of sexism, who asked the 54-year-old actress about her marriage to Tom Cruise during an interview dedicated to Aaron Sorkin's film "In the Role of Ricardo".

The film "In the role of Ricardo", which tells about the difficult relationship of American television stars Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaza, was released in the US on December 10. Kidman, who played one of the main roles in it, talked in an interview about how hard it was for Lucille and Desi, who played spouses in the TV series "I love Lucy", to remain a couple in real life.

According to the actress, she likes that there is no happy ending in this story about creative and romantic relationships.

It is impossible to make people behave the way we would like. Sometimes you can fall in love with someone you won't spend the rest of your life with. I think this story will resonate with many. You may even have children together, or not. In any case, these two loved each other very much.

A newspaper reporter asked Kidman if she meant by saying this, and her failed marriage to Tom Cruise, to which the actress indignantly replied:

Oh, my God, no. Of course not. I mean, seriously, it's been so long that it's not even relevant anymore. So, no. And in general, I would ask you not to put me in such an awkward position. I have a feeling that this is almost sexist, because I don't think anyone would ask a man about such a thing.

The actress was married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001. Their adopted children - 29-year-old daughter Isabella and 26-year-old son Connor - stayed with their father after their parents' divorce and stopped communicating with Kidman. Nicole is now married to 54-year-old Australian singer Keith Urban, with whom she has two biological daughters - 13-year-old Sunday and 11-year-old Faith.

Earlier in the interview, the star admitted that she had to deal not only with sexism, but also with age discrimination.
