Adele's triumph, Courteney Cox's rare outing with her boyfriend and Måneskin's loss: how the Brit Awards ceremony went
The Brit Awards ceremony was held in London, where the best musicians and performers were traditionally awarded. The winner of the award was Adele. The singer, who returned last year with a new album, won three statuettes in the main nominations at once: "Artist of the Year", "Song of the Year" and "Album of the Year". How the ceremony went and who else became the winner, we tell in our material.
Red carpet
In addition to Adele, of course, many other nominees came to the ceremony (at the end of the evening, some of them were already in the status of the winner), including Ed Sheeran, the idol of the zoomers Olivia Rodrigo, the band Måneskin (looking ahead, let's say that the luck of the incendiary Italians did not smile this time) and others.
Show
The highlight of the concert program was Adele again — it was her first performance from the UK since 2016. Fans have been waiting for the diva's live concerts — her performances in Las Vegas have recently been disrupted.
The cancellation of the concerts was accompanied by a scandal — the singer herself said that the cases of covid in her team were to blame, but insiders from the organizers of the show said that Adele simply disrupted the performances, demanding virtually impossible changes in the design of the stage in a short time. But it seems that the singer quickly forgot all these difficulties and in a great mood played her mini-set at the ceremony, appearing on stage in a sparkling Valentino dress and singing the song I Drink Wine.
The singer also made a touching speech when she received an award in the nomination "Best Album". She dedicated the victory to her son Angelo, who was very "patient and kind" while she was working on the record.
I am very proud of myself for sticking to my views and releasing an album that was so personal for me, because few people do such things now,
Adele said.
The singer also thanked the producer Inflo, who worked with her on the album and became an "integral part" of it.
He really changed my life, not just with my music — he really helped me in many ways,
Adele noted.
Rock music fans were also in for a pleasant surprise. Liam Gallagher took part in the show, who is now preparing to release a new album — its release is scheduled for May 2022.
The band Måneskin did not achieve a victory in its category ("International Group"), but the participants still went up on stage that evening to present the Wolf Alice award in the nomination "Group of the Year". Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones presented the award to Sam Fender in the Alternative/Rock category.
The category "Best International Song", the award in which went to Olivia Rodrigo, caused increased attention of the public. Courteney Cox came out to present the statuettes with her boyfriend, a member of the Snow Patrol group Johnny McDaid — the couple rarely appears in public, so their joint exit was discussed for a long time on social networks.
