Kate Middleton and Prince William have completed a tour of the Caribbean

Kate Middleton and Prince William's week-long tour of the Caribbean has come to an end. The royal couple managed to visit Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas.

On their last day in the Bahamas, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Abaco Island to see how local communities are recovering after the devastating hurricane of 2019, which claimed dozens of lives. Kate appeared in front of the islanders in a shirt dress from Rixo. The look was complemented by suede espadrilles from Castañer and a pink handbag from Emmy London.

After that, Kate and William visited the Grand Bahama Orphanage, and also met with representatives of the Coral Vita project, one of the winners of the Earthshot Prize established by Prince William. The couple were introduced to innovative ideas for the restoration and conservation of coral reefs.

On the evening of March 26, the Dukes of Cambridge set off back to London on their RAF VIP Voyager plane. Before leaving, they promised to return to the Bahamas on vacation with their children.

The main purpose of the trip, timed to celebrate the platinum jubilee of the reign of Elizabeth II, was to strengthen the ties of the monarchy with the countries of the Commonwealth of Nations. However, this goal can hardly be considered achieved — from the very beginning of the tour, residents of the Caribbean countries met Kate and William with protests against colonialism.

Shortly before returning to London, Prince William spoke at a reception hosted by the Governor-General of the Bahamas in Nassau. During his speech, he said that the royal family would support the decisions of the Caribbean countries that wish to sever ties with the British monarchy.
