Adele became the heroine of the cover and cover story of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. In the photographs, the singer poses in looks from Valentino, Carolina Herrera, Schiaparelli, photographed by photographer Ruven Avanador. In an interview, the star spoke about the women who influenced her strength, about her own authority and about her attitude towards her mother after the birth of her son.
Winner of 16 Grammy Awards and the Oscars calls the female side of his family the main sources of strength and inspiration. “I was raised by my mother, aunts and grandmothers. And they seemed stronger to me than anyone else I had ever met. They experienced for themselves what it is to be a woman. And it made them [stronger].”
To the list of her inspirations, Adele adds Barbra Streisand, Beyoncé and her English teacher. "Barbra Streisand is one of them, I fucking adore her—one of my favorites. Beyoncé is definitely my idol, I follow her. There are so many doors that I was able to enter only because others opened them, and I consider myself very lucky for that."
By her 35th birthday, Adele managed to become one of the most famous singers of our time and entered the Guinness Book of Records several times. The singer herself attributes her career achievements to luck and her own authority.
“It’s important, first of all, to just be yourself. That's one of the reasons why I've been so lucky in my career, besides being a white woman in music. I think people are afraid of me, and it's been like that since I turned 18. I don't know what's wrong. I think there is no room for negotiation when it comes to what I want to do and how I want to do it. And it has always been like this."
After the birth of her son Angelo from her ex-husband Simon Konecki, the singer took a three-year break from her career and returned to the stage in 2015 with the album “25,” which sold 20 million copies in its first year. The singer noted that motherhood made her remember her difficult childhood and instill patience towards her mother.
"The first thing I think about when a baby comes is that you remember your own childhood. And no matter what it was - good or bad, or whatever - you do not want your child to have your childhood. My mother was very young when she gave birth to me. She was alone, and I realized that all the things I thought she could do better, she simply couldn't do at that moment. It made me respect my mother more, made me understand how hard it was for her because we had no money.”
In November, it became known that the singer married her lover, sports agent Rich Paul, with whom she has been dating since 2021. Adele later confirmed the rumors about her marriage.
