"I lost control of my muscles." Celine Dion's sister spoke about the singer's condition

Celine Dion's sister Claudette revealed new details about the singer's condition: at the end of last year she was diagnosed with muscle stiffness syndrome. According to a relative of the star, she did not feel any better - 55-year-old Dion lost control of her muscles.

“There are spasms that simply cannot be controlled. You know that feeling when you wake up at night due to cramps in your leg or calf? This is approximately the same sensation, but in all muscles at once. There is little we can do to support her, to ease her pain,” said Claudette.

"She works hard, but can't control her muscles. What breaks my heart is that she has always been disciplined."

According to her, despite the illness, the singer dreams of returning to the stage and does not exclude the possibility that this will happen. Claudette noted that the disease is poorly understood, so it is very difficult to talk about how it will develop. “The vocal cords are muscles, and the heart is also a muscle. This is what scares me the most. Since the incidence of this diagnosis is one in a million, scientists have not done enough research because it does not affect many people."

Claudette previously said that Celine Dion has not yet resorted to a wheelchair, although her condition frightens her loved ones. "We can't find a single effective cure, but it's important to have hope." She added that fans send the singer a lot of letters and gifts, and that support means a lot to her.

Tight muscle syndrome is a disease of the central nervous system that causes progressive muscle stiffness and muscle spasms, often turning patients into a “living statue.” It is diagnosed, as a rule, at the age of 30-50, and most often in women.

Dion previously told fans that she had difficulty with mobility and that this condition also affects her voice, and in May she announced on social networks the cancellation of her Courage world tour due to illness.
