Michael Jackson's brother accused of rape

Michael Jackson's brother, musician Jermaine Jackson, who is a member of The Jackson 5, was accused of rape. Rolling Stone magazine writes about this.

He was sued by a woman named Rita Barrett, who accused the musician of breaking into her home and assaulting her, followed by sexual assault. The incident occurred back in 1988. During the attack, she "prayed to God" and feared for my life.

The woman then told about this incident to Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown Records, who worked with the Jacksons and also knew her husband and was therefore “in a unique position both to report the actions of Defendant Jackson and to to help the plaintiff during her injury." But he did not stand up for her, but on the contrary, according to her, did everything to hush up the matter: he received great benefits from cooperation with the Jacksons and it was in his interests to preserve Jermaine’s reputation.

The musician himself, who has not previously been accused of sexual violence, did not comment on the accusations against him.

As it became known earlier, Michael Jackson's nephew and Jermaine's son Jaafar Jackson will play the role of Michael Jackson in the upcoming biopic about him.
