Rupert Murdoch's granddaughter Charlotte said her marriage to rapper Luke Storey lasted only 12 hours
The 23-year-old granddaughter of famous entrepreneur and billionaire Rupert Murdoch, whose fortune is estimated at $21.5 billion, told The Mail on Sunday about her unsuccessful marriage. Charlotte admitted that her marriage to rapper Luke Storey fell apart in a matter of hours. "We were married 12 hours when our whole world collapsed. On the way to our honeymoon, he had a relapse. This was not a very good sign. In general, the whole marriage was like a disgusting show. It seemed to me that there were three people in the relationship - me, him and our recovery. When we were sober, everything was fine with us, but none of us could stay sober for long,” the tycoon’s granddaughter shared.
The fact is that Charlotte has been struggling with drug addiction and an eating disorder for several years. They eventually divorced after just 14 months in September last year.
Charlotte now lives in Los Angeles with a new boyfriend and in the coming months is preparing to launch a dating app for people who have been able to overcome their addiction, called Club Pillar.
Charlotte and Luke met three years ago in a London club. She was only 18 at the time, and he was 33. The young man invited Charlotte to join the Narcotics Anonymous group. They married at St Mary's Church in Oxfordshire in 2022.
Charlotte is a representative of two famous families. While her mother Elisabeth is the daughter of Rupert Murdoch, Charlotte's father Matthew Freud is the great-grandson of Sigmund Freud and nephew of the artist Lucian Freud. In addition, her father's first wife, Charlotte Hutton, is married to Princess Diana's brother, Earl Spencer.
The origins of Charlotte's fiancé may not be as distinguished, but they are also very respectable: his mother is the British artist and fashion designer Helen Storey, and his grandfather is the Booker Prize winner, the famous English playwright and writer David Storey.
