Buckingham Palace commented on the news of the death of King Charles III

Buckingham Palace has denied reports of the death of King Charles III, which circulated in the Russian media today. The message was also published by the British Embassy in Moscow.

“We are pleased to confirm that the king continues to fulfill his work duties and attend to private affairs,” the palace said in response to a request from TASS journalists.

The news about the “death” of the king, “confirmed” by a fake creaking message on the Buckingham Palace website, went viral on the social network X (formerly Twitter, blocked in the Russian Federation): photographs of Buckingham Palace appeared with the flag at half-mast (which means the death of the monarch), but later it turned out that that these photographs were taken several years ago.

On January 26, King Charles underwent a planned operation due to an enlarged prostate. During the examination, he was diagnosed with cancer, so the king has now temporarily retired from royal duties and is undergoing treatment. Royal duties are carried out by his son Prince William and his wife Queen Camilla.

Charles III is not the only member of the royal family who is currently “on sick leave”: according to the palace, Kate Middleton underwent abdominal surgery and is recovering, so she will not go out until the end of March. This has given rise to many theories about her "disappearance", ranging from botched plastic surgery to Prince William's infidelity. However, the day before the couple was spotted together in a store near their home.
