The oldest man in the world has died
The world's oldest man, farmer Juan Vicente Perez Mora, has died in Venezuela. In two months he would have turned 115 years old.
Freddy Bernal, the governor of the Venezuelan state of Tachira, where the farmer lived, spoke about his death on the social network X (formerly Twitter, blocked in the Russian Federation). “Our dear Juan Vicente Pérez Mora, it is with deepest sorrow that we bid farewell to you and to your image as a good-natured, hard-working and family-loving man from Tachira.”
According to the Daily Mail, the secret to his longevity was to “work hard, rest well, go to bed early, drink a glass of aguardiente every day, love God and always keep him in your heart.”
Juan Vicente Perez Mora was born in 1909, the fifth child in a family of 10 children. Already at the age of five, he began working with his brothers and sisters on a farm where he collected sugar cane and coffee. He managed to be the sheriff of Caracas, without, however, leaving work on the farm. Juan Vicente Perez Mora married Ediofina del Rosario Garcia in 1937 and lived with her for 60 years, he had 11 children, 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
