"She wants to suck all the money out of him." Jolie and Pitt exchanged new accusations
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's marriage ended eight years ago, and the legal battle is still ongoing. And if questions about custody faded away by themselves, since three of the six children of the ex-spouses have already grown up during this time, then the battle for the Miraval castle and winery continues - and new accusations are being brought into play. Thus, the Daily Mail has obtained new court documents in which Jolie’s side claims that her ex-husband is trying to “financially exhaust” her. Daily Mail journalists conducted their own investigation to find out the validity of such accusations, and came to the conclusion that in the years after the divorce, the Hollywood actress not only did not become poorer, but, on the contrary, became richer - by $100 million.
This amount, according to the publication, includes loans, alimony, gifts and millions from the sale of her 50 percent share of the Château Miraval winery - because of this deal, the former spouses are now suing, since Pitt insists that Jolie had no right without his permission to sell her part of their once common business (Jolie sold her share to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler).
Most of these 100 million went to Jolie’s account from Pitt’s account: for example, by 2018, according to journalists, the actor spent more than $1.3 million on child support, paying for psychotherapy for children and hundreds of thousands of other bills. According to sources, Pitt has been systematically paying these expenses for the past seven years. During this time, he spent about $10 million on alimony.
But Jolie benefited most from the sale of her stake in the Miraval winery: when Pitt and Jolie bought the estate in 2008, it was worth $60 million, but now its price, “thanks to Pitt’s efforts and investments,” has risen to $164 million.
However, in court documents, Jolie's side insists on a different version: "It is extremely painful for Jolie to defend herself against this lawsuit - which is another example of Pitt's ongoing efforts to control and financially deplete her - especially because it would be difficult to prove Pitt's lies about the reasons for the failure of the deal regarding Miraval can only be done by doing exactly what Jolie never wanted to do: explain to the judge why the deal failed, thereby violating the non-disclosure agreement that Pitt insisted on to hide his history of physical and emotional abuse of Jolie and their family." The publication quotes the document.
However, insiders familiar with the situation have a different opinion: “Angie says Brad wants to bleed her financially, but it looks like she wants to suck all the money out of him. You can’t tell from Pitt that he wants to destroy his ex, on the contrary , his actions look like he is trying his best to support Angie and help her financially, despite her vindictiveness,” said sources close to Jolie and Pitt.
Insiders also note that although Jolie “cries out about her poverty,” she still had enough money to buy a house in Manhattan that once belonged to Andy Warhol and was rented for $60,000 a month.
The court will soon make decisions on Jolie's new claims against Pitt, but the final completion of the process is still far away. However, Pitt has already won several court victories in recent months, including a key ruling in Luxembourg that gave him back control of the Chateau Miraval vineyard, pending further hearings. Another important victory was the judge's decision to dismiss Jolie's lawsuit, in which she called Pitt's claims "ridiculous and malicious." Jolie herself later called the judge “biased.”
