Celine Dion posed topless for the cover of a glossy magazine and spoke about her struggle with muscle stiffness syndrome
Celine Dion, who struggles with stiff muscle syndrome, posed for the cover of the new issue of French Vogue. In the footage, the 55-year-old singer posed topless in a voluminous white shirt and shorts, and in an interview with the magazine she spoke about the fight against the disease.
According to Celine, she works every day to “accept” her illness and constantly learn to “manage” it. "I'm doing well, but there's still a lot of work to do. I'm learning to take it a little bit every day. I'm in therapy five days a week. I need to learn to live with it now and stop questioning myself," she said.
"I haven't beaten the disease because it's still in me and always will be. I hope we find a miracle way to cure it through scientific research, but for now I have to learn to live with it."
"In the beginning, I asked myself: Why me? How did this happen? What did I do? Is it my fault? Life doesn't give you any answers. You just have to get through it. I decided to work on it with my whole body and soul, from head to toe, together with the medical team. I want to feel as good as possible. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again,” Dion admitted.
She also said whether she would ever return to the stage. “I can’t answer this question. Because for four years I told myself that I wouldn’t come back, that I was ready for the fact that I couldn’t. Under the current circumstances, I can’t take it and say: “Yes, in four months.” I I don’t know... My body will tell me.”
"My fame has made me never want to give up anything. I was born to communicate on stage, with my voice, and with my fans."
Celine Dion also spoke about her attitude to beauty. "I am very proud that at the age of 55 I am asked to reveal the secrets of my beauty. But what is beauty? Beauty is you, it is me, it is what is inside, it is our dreams, it is today. Beauty is what it exists around us. There are people who see it, and there are people who observe it. Today I am a woman who feels strong and looks forward to the future."
Recently, Celine appeared in public for the first time in three months: she appeared at the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. The singer took the stage at Crypto.com Arena to announce the winner in the Album of the Year category, which she first received 27 years ago. This year it turned out to be Taylor Swift.
Late last year, Celine Dion was diagnosed with stiff muscle syndrome. As her sister said, Celine lost control of her muscles, but refused to use a wheelchair, and also really wanted to return to the stage and tried to do everything to make this possible.
