He offered to have children with him, wrote at night: Elon Musk was accused of sexual harassment at work
The American newspaper The Wall Street Journal published a large article about Elon Musk. According to the publication, the billionaire had sexual relationships with subordinates, promoted mistresses and harassed employees of his company SpaceX.
Thus, one of the girls with whom the entrepreneur was allegedly close was in college and an intern when he met Elon, but Musk soon hired her to join his executive team, and this rapid rise through the ranks aroused suspicion among colleagues.
Another woman said Musk repeatedly asked her to have his children, and when she refused, her working relationship with her boss deteriorated. She didn't get a raise and had to endure Musk's nitpicking about her work.
Another employee shared that Elon wrote to her at night asking her to come to his house, and when faced with her silence, he began bombarding her with new messages.
The WSJ story is based on correspondence, emails and interviews with more than 48 people, including friends and family members of the women victims, as well as former SpaceX employees.
Elon himself did not respond to journalists’ requests, but SpaceX director Gwynne Shotwell commented on the situation. She said stories of sexual harassment misrepresent the reality at SpaceX and do not reflect the company's culture. According to her, the company considers all such complaints and promptly responds to them.
In 2021, former SpaceX employees have already stated that the company has a “culture of sexual harassment.”
