French actress Anouk Aimee, star of the cult film "A Man and a Woman" and a legend of French cinema, has died at the age of 92. This was announced by her daughter, actress Manuel Papatakis.
"It is extremely sad to announce the passing of my mother Anouk Aimée. I was by her side when she died this morning at her home in Paris," Manuel wrote on her Instagram page*.
Anouk Aimée, whose real name is Nicole Françoise Florence Dreyfus, has starred in many acclaimed films over her 70-year film career. Among them is A Man and a Woman, directed by Claude Lelouch, for which she received Golden Globe and BAFTA awards and was nominated for an Oscar. Other iconic works of the actress were the films “La Dolce Vita” and “Eight and a Half” by Federico Fellini, “Leap into the Void” by Marco Bellocchio and others.
