Jennifer Lawrence to star in 'Desperate Housewives'-inspired thriller

Jennifer Lawrence will star in the thriller “The Wives” and will also serve as a producer on the film, Variety reports.

The film will be produced by Apple Studio and A24, and the script will be written by Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley, the authors of the play Circle Jerk, which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2021.

The plot of the film has not yet been revealed, but it is known that the starting point of the events will be a sudden mysterious murder. The detective will have much in common with the reality show "Real Housewives", which in turn was inspired by the series "Desperate Housewives". Lawrence has repeatedly admitted that she loves watching reality shows about the lives of rich American wives, so it is not surprising that she was interested in this project.
