Kate Middleton has supported the LGBTQ community in her new project

39-year-old Kate Middleton today appeared in public again: on June 18, the Duchess of Cambridge held several meetings in London to coincide with the opening of her new charity, The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which specializes in early childhood development and related problems.

So, Kate visited the London School of Economics, where she took part in a round table with representatives of the educational sector and made a short report, outlining the priority areas of the foundation's work in the near future. For the event, Kate chose a pale blue LK Bennett sheath dress from the collection dedicated to the Royal Ascot horse race, which just closes today, and classic beige pumps with heels.

The image, as usual, was complemented by a medical mask (which Kate later removed) and jewelry: a massive Halcyon Days bracelet, a sapphire ring given by Prince William for the engagement, earrings inherited from Princess Diana, and a pendant with the initials of her and William's three children-George, Charlotte and Louis.

It was rainy in London that day, so Kate was heading to the meeting place under a black umbrella. Later, when she arrived at Kensington Palace for a second meeting — with parents and guardians involved in the work of the foundation — the Duchess of Cambridge changed this accessory for another: she got out of the car with a rainbow umbrella. Thus, Kate paid tribute to all representatives of the LGBTQ community, whose symbol is the rainbow and which is traditionally honored in the world in June, during the so — called Pride Month-Pride Month.

Announcing the launch of the foundation, Kate also recorded a video, telling about the goals and plans:

We want to raise awareness in this area and talk about why the first five years of a child's life are so important for their entire future life, success and prospects; to tell what we can do as a society to take advantage of this great opportunity to create a happier, more mentally healthy and more caring society.

The official statement also reads as follows:

The more we learn about early development from a scientific perspective, whether it's brain development, social skills, or the impact on our mental health in the future, the more we realize that this is the social equivalent of global warming. However, these issues are not discussed with the same seriousness and are not accompanied by strategic decisions, as the problems of climate change.

Kate Middleton, like other members of the royal family, has long made the mental health of children and adults and raising awareness of the importance of competent early childhood development a priority for her charity. Interestingly, Meghan Markle, with whom Kate had a strained relationship, also shows interest in this topic: she recently released a book for children, in which she presented her view of the relationship between fathers and children and showed "the other side of masculinity."
