The reason for the divorce of Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov has become known. According to sources close to the couple, the reason for the breakup was living at a distance. They told this to the publication "StarHit".

The fact that 52-year-old opera diva Anna Netrebko and 47-year-old opera singer Yusif Eyvazov are getting divorced became known yesterday when they published a joint statement in the press. The couple announced that they were breaking up, but would remain close friends.

They did not name the reason for the divorce, but today the press reported that it happened because they spend too much time in different countries. The source said: "It was a matter of time, since they have been living in different countries lately: Yusif works a lot in Baku, and Anna is constantly in Vienna. The relationship just fizzled out, it all happened by itself."

Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov got married in December 2015 in Vienna. They met a year earlier in Rome, when they played the role of a couple in love in Giacomo Puccini's opera Manon Lescaut. They also often performed together on stage: for example, in productions of Turandot or Tosca, and after their separation they will continue to perform together.

Before her marriage to Eyvazov, Anna Netrebko was engaged to Uruguayan baritone Erwin Schrott. In 2008, they had a son, Thiago Arua. In November 2013, the couple broke up. Yusif often published photos with Thiago and took an active part in his upbringing.

Anna Netrebko has been criticized a lot lately for her performances abroad. After the start of the Russian military special operation in Ukraine and a break in her career, she returned to the European stage and continued performing in foreign theaters. Because of this, she was fired from several Russian projects. At the same time, Anna Netrebko herself stated that she does not speak out against her country, but does not intend to justify herself to anyone.
