David Duchovny Poses Nude At 63 To 'Make Fun Of Aging'
David Duchovny, who turned 63 last August, has revealed why he decided to appear nude in his new film, Breaking the Curse.
Duchovny, who was considered one of Hollywood's top sex symbols in the '90s and '00s, directed and wrote the film, which tells the story of a sick man whose condition worsens with each loss of his favorite baseball team. According to the plot of the film, the adult son of David's character comes up with a whole scheme to create a fake winning streak for the Red Sox, trying to boost his father's morale.
In an interview with Salon, David revealed that he wrote the scene in which his character appears naked in a men's locker room. He did it to "make fun of aging."
“Everything can be turned into humor. The most horrific moments can be looked at with a bit of humor, and that humor comes from the realization that we all have the same fate. It’s not like some people grow old and some don’t, some people die and some don’t. In one scene, my character shows his son his naked body and says, ‘It looks like I have a dead sparrow where my dick should be.’ I thought that was funny. It was even touching in its own way,” Duchovny shared.
The actor recently claimed that it was he who "discovered" Angelina Jolie when he auditioned for the film "Playing God."
