'Leave something to the imagination': Robbie Williams slams women for 'too revealing' swimsuits
Robbie Williams has criticized women who wear thong bikinis. The 50-year-old British singer posted on Instagram*, expressing his dissatisfaction with the overly revealing swimsuits and showing what men would look like in such clothes.
Williams posted a cartoon of a man in a pair of skimpy swim trunks. "A male version of a bikini with an exposed butt," the caption reads.
Williams wrote under the post that he doesn't like revealing swimsuits on girls, at least because they leave no room for imagination. "I'm far from being a prude, that's not the point. It's just, I don't know, let's leave a little room for imagination, girls."
The singer also wondered where the thong bikini trend came from and which celebrity was the first to promote wearing it on the beach. "What is the natural evolution of the 'open butt' bikini? It's scary to think. I must be old. Anyway, excuse me, I have things to do," the artist wrote.
Most of Robbie's fans supported his opinion in the comments. "Yes, forgive me if I seem prude, but the minute summer hits the UK, people seem to go nuts... Call me old-fashioned, but I think swimming trunks should cover the vagina", "Not a fan of thongs, whatever you call it. But to each their own", "Agree with Robbie", "Totally agree. What your wife is wearing these days is so much more elegant!" - the users wrote.
