Olivia Munn Marries John Mulaney Amid Breast Cancer Battle
Olivia Munn, who is battling an aggressive form of breast cancer, has married. The 44-year-old actress and 41-year-old comedian John Mulaney tied the knot in a low-key ceremony in New York, the Mirror reports.
The couple have been dating since 2021 and are parents to two-year-old son Malcolm. They chose a "simple" and "intimate" wedding, according to a source close to John. Only the best man and the couple's son were present at the ceremony.
The secret wedding news comes four months after the actress revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Olivia delayed treatment to freeze her eggs before undergoing a hysterectomy. Rumours of the couple's new status began circulating last month when John posted and quickly deleted a photo of himself wearing an engagement ring.
John Mulaney and Olivia Munn began dating in 2021, immediately after the comedian split from his ex-wife, 39-year-old makeup artist Anna Marie Tendler. They were married for seven years. In 2021, John and Olivia announced that they were expecting a child, and the couple welcomed their son Malcolm later in the year. In December 2020, John completed a 60-day rehab program for drug and alcohol addiction. On Late Night with Seth Meyers, Mulaney said that meeting the actress and becoming a father completely changed his life. "Olivia and having a baby helped me save myself from myself on this early road to recovery."
Before meeting John, Olivia was in a three-year relationship with American football player Aaron Rodgers. The couple broke up in 2017. In March of this year, the actress revealed that she had been battling an aggressive form of breast cancer for a year, and had undergone a double mastectomy, as well as three more breast surgeries. Olivia added that she would not have learned of the diagnosis for another year — until her next mammogram — if her gynecologist had not decided to calculate a breast cancer risk score.
