Kim and Khloe Kardashian try new Indian-inspired looks at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding
India continues to celebrate the wedding of Anant Ambani, son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of billionaire Viren Merchant. Celebrity guests of the celebration, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, shared photos and videos on social media in which they are captured in new Indian-style looks.
On Saturday, Kim appeared before the crowd in a soft pink traditional outfit consisting of three pieces: a long Indian skirt (lehenga), a tight top with embroidery and embellishments (choli) and a long piece of fabric that is draped over the shoulder (dupatta). The look was completed with jewelry created by American high jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz. Among other things, Kim wore a massive nose chain with diamonds and pearls
Chloe chose a dress in a brighter shade of pink. She also wore a lot of expensive jewelry, like other guests at the so-called “wedding of the century.” The Internet is already joking that the cost of all the jewelry that can be seen at the wedding is equal to the GDP of several Asian countries.
The Ambani-Merchant wedding was dubbed the “wedding of the century” due to the colossal expenses on the event itself and the accompanying festivities. The couple’s union began to be celebrated in the spring. In March, the families of both the bride and groom threw a pre-wedding party, at which Rihanna performed. In mid-June, Anant and Radhika, along with a thousand guests, went on a cruise on the Mediterranean on a boat. The couple’s loved ones were entertained on board by the Backstreet Boys, in Rome by David Guetta, and in Cannes by Katy Perry. And recently, in early July, Justin Bieber performed at the traditional sangeet event organized in honor of the couple.
