"She's over 50, but with a bow she literally looks 4 years old." Britney Spears defends Kate Beckinsale, who was criticized for her age-inappropriate looks
Britney Spears posted on Instagram* in support of actress Kate Beckinsale. The 50-year-old actress has recently been criticized for being too thin, not wanting to age naturally, and for her age-inappropriate looks: for example, Kate wears a bow in her hair.
The 42-year-old singer called such comments ageist. "I love Kate Beckinsale, especially because she's from London. I realized how incredibly cruel people are writing about her on Instagram*, saying she needs more age-appropriate content... She's in her 50s, and I thought it was so cool that she wears a mini bow in her hair and literally looks 4 years old," Britney said.
According to her, she herself constantly encounters similar comments under her videos in which she dances: they write to her that this is not appropriate for her age.
"What have you done to help someone achieve their dreams other than comment on how we are old and don't have the right content?" Britney wrote. She noted that there is nothing wrong with needing inspiration and support.
"But ironically, in the world we live in, where people can be incredibly cruel, you have to be extremely careful who you let into your circle and into your heart," the singer added.
Kate Beckinsale previously said that she has been facing bullying about her appearance for 20 years: she is accused of being too thin and of having had plastic surgery, which, according to the actress, she has never had. The star attributes her weight loss to the severe stress and losses she has experienced recently.
Britney Spears, in turn, constantly fights off concerned fans on social media. She often gets into scandals related to her behavior: she posts photos on social media in which she is completely naked, spends time with men with a bad reputation, and even got into a fight with her boyfriend Paul Richard Soliz, as a result of which she broke her leg. However, she refused medical help. She also recently accused the paparazzi of "photoshopping" her cellulite
