Bella Hadid to sue adidas after campaign featuring her is removed

Bella Hadid has decided to sue Adidas after the brand removed a controversial ad featuring her, TMZ reports.

According to the publication, the supermodel has already begun preparing for the upcoming trial and has hired lawyers for this purpose. She plans to make the brand bear responsibility for initiating a cruel and destructive campaign, as well as involving her in a scandal. At the same time, the celebrity has not yet terminated her contract with adidas.

Recall that the 27-year-old model advertised the relaunch of the SL 72 sneaker line, which was created by adidas for the 1972 Olympics in Munich. At those Games, the Palestinian terrorist organization Black September killed 11 members of the Israeli national team and a local police officer. Since Bella has Palestinian-Dutch roots, adidas was criticized, and the American Jewish Committee even complained about the brand.

Adidas eventually had to apologize. “We recognize that [customers] have made connections to tragic historical events — although they were completely unintentional — and apologize for any upset or concern this has caused,” the brand said. They also publicly apologized to Bella for the negative consequences she had to face as a result of their actions.

Bella Hadid has previously faced career problems due to her position on Hamas attacks on Israeli territories bordering the Gaza Strip. Thus, in November 2023, Dior ended its cooperation with her.
