Salma Hayek took part in the Olympic torch relay
Salma Hayek has taken part in the Olympic torch relay in Paris. The actress is one of the few celebrities who have been given the honour of taking part in the event ahead of the Olympics, which starts on July 26.
The 57-year-old Mexican actress posted photos from the event, where she poses in a white sports uniform with her own number and the inscription "Paris 2024". Hayek walked alongside French football coach Didier Deschamps, singer Patrick Bruel, football star Presnel Kimpembe and other athletes from the suburb of Yvelines to the Palace of Versailles.
"Getting ready to participate in the Olympic torch relay in Paris! Feeling the excitement and unity that the Olympic Games bring," the "Frida" star wrote on Instagram*.
American rapper Snoop Dogg will also take part in the Olympic torch relay. Before the opening ceremony on Friday, he will walk with torchbearers in the Saint-Denis area, the last stop before the torch is carried to the Eiffel Tower. The rapper will also serve as a special correspondent for NBC during the Games.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. For the first time in 40 years, Russian TV channels will not broadcast the Olympic Games.
