Shiloh Jolie-Pitt Couldn't Give Up Her Father's Last Name
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's eldest biological child Shiloh, who recently turned 18, has been unable to formally renounce her father's surname. Her hearing was delayed due to a "clerical error."
"Anyone who requests a name change must undergo a background check with the court, and due to a clerical error, Shiloh's hearing was rescheduled," a representative for Shiloh told People. The hearing will now be held on August 19.
Earlier it became known that Shiloh renounced the surname of her father, 60-year-old Brad Pitt, due to "painful events" that happened in her life earlier. The exact circumstances of the decision are not specified, but it is possible that we are talking about the infamous quarrel between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on a plane in 2014, which eventually led to their scandalous divorce. However, this spring, Angelina Jolie stated that Brad Pitt used physical violence against her even before the infamous quarrel on the plane, which led to their divorce.
According to insiders, the news that Shiloh decided to drop his last name came as a huge blow to Pitt himself.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt officially divorced in 2019. The couple's romance began on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2005, and they got married in France in 2014. Pitt and Jolie have six children, three of whom are adopted: 22-year-old Maddox, 19-year-old Zahara, and 20-year-old Pax, and three are biological: 18-year-old Shiloh and 15-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
In addition to Shiloh, daughters Zahara and Vivienne also renounced their father's surname.
