The couple had been photographed with their children before, although very rarely, but never at a public event - this was the first time the family appeared in public together.
Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes met on the set of the film "The Place Beyond the Pines" in 2011 - around the same time they last posed for photographers together. Yes, Ryan and Eva have been together for 13 years, but have not appeared in public together for almost 10 years. This does not mean that they do not attend social events together - they do, they just never take pictures together: for example, this year at the Oscars, where Gosling was in the spotlight thanks to the film "Barbie", Eva was there too - but behind the scenes. Gosling then thanked his family again from the stage for their support, and Mendes later reminded him on social media that a career is, of course, great, but the main role in his life is being a dad.
The couple has two daughters: 9-year-old Esmeralda and 8-year-old Amada. After the birth of her children, Eva Mendes left her profession to take care of the children, and she and Ryan agreed in advance that she would be a housewife. Eva does not regret it: she says that, having become a mother at a late age, she wants to devote herself entirely to her children. She is now 50 years old, Gosling is 43 years old.
