Shaman received 16 million rubles for performing on City Day in Orenburg. The State Duma called these expenses inappropriate
Singer Shaman found himself at the center of a scandal: he performed on City Day in Orenburg and received 16 million rubles for the concert. The fee was criticized: the Internet recalled that not all residents of the Orenburg region have paid for damages after the recent flood. The State Duma also commented negatively on the situation: the expenses were called inappropriate.
State Duma deputy Nina Ostanina addressed the regional governor and called for him to pay for such expenses out of his own pocket. "Orenburg residents continue to be outraged by the fabulous size of the fee for the singer Shaman, allocated by the authorities from the city budget, accompanying the news with comments: "A feast during the plague!", "Have at least a little conscience!", "Return to the real world!" etc. With great respect for the city residents, we consider such expenses from the city budget untimely," Ostanina said in a letter to the governor of the Orenburg region Denis Pasler.
She noted that the city had not restored the infrastructure after the flood. The regional administration told journalists that the celebration was being organized by the city authorities, so they should contact them. In addition, they added that it would not be possible to cancel the concert, since 16 million had already been transferred to Dronov, and according to the terms of the contract with the musician, if the event was cancelled, the money would not be returned. "That is, it would turn out that the money was lost and the celebration was ruined," the administration said.
As reported on the Baza Telegram channel, the singer's performance will now be investigated by the prosecutor's office.
Earlier, the European Union imposed sanctions against Shaman. "I was included in the EU sanctions list because I am Russian," commented Yaroslav Dronov.
