Armie Hammer Sells His Beloved SUV Because He Can't Afford to Fill It Up

Armie Hammer, who was previously accused of cannibalism and sexualized violence, was forced to sell his SUV - he did not have enough money for gas. The 38-year-old actor posted a video on social media in which he spoke about the forced measure.

"I bought it for Christmas in 2017. I loved the truck so much and… and now we're on our last ride with it because I'm selling it. I put about $500 worth of gas in it and I can't afford it," Hammer said.

The actor added that he was back in Los Angeles - he had been living in the Cayman Islands since the sex scandal. "I have a new car, it's tiny, a hybrid, I'll probably spend about ten bucks a month on gas."

Armie Hammer, who is best known for his role in Call Me By Your Name with Timothée Chalamet, has previously said that the cancellation and financial crisis have allowed him to reassess his life. "Someone can look at me and say, 'You're in a completely different place financially than you've ever been in your life.' I look at it and I'm like, 'Yeah, but you know, it's made me realize that I don't need all of that because I'm happier than I've ever been in my life,'" Hammer says.

Armie Hammer was charged in 2021, when leaked sex chats of the actor in which he discussed BDSM practices with women were leaked online. Hammer was married at the time. Other stories about the actor's sexual preferences later came to light. For example, his preferences included physical and psychological violence against women and dreams of cannibalism. He also had a "pain room" that he set up at home. Hammer initially denied all of this, but later they found his secret Instagram account*, in which he discussed sex and drugs. After everything became known, the actor made a public statement and admitted his guilt. At the same time, he said that he did not rape women and that everything was with their consent. Hammer later went to rehab for treatment for sex addiction. The actor was also accused of sexualized violence, but they were later dropped.

Because of the scandal, he lost contracts and had to work in real estate in the Cayman Islands. Also, against the backdrop of the accusations, his wife Elizabeth Chambers left him, saying that she had no idea about her husband's inclinations. After that, the ex-spouses spent a long time deciding custody issues over their two children.

After the scandal, the actor said that he fell into depression and even wanted to commit suicide.
