Detroit hosts 'Bridgerton' themed ball, visitors claim fraud

In Detroit, dozens of people paid hundreds of dollars to attend a Regency-era ball inspired by the TV series "Bridgerton" but were left so disappointed that they accused the organizers of fraud, Forbes reports.

Fans of the Netflix series Bridgerton claim that the organizers of the ball moved the date at the last minute and held the event without any decorations. However, buyers were initially promised an "evening of sophistication, grace and historical charm" with a costume contest with a cash prize of two thousand dollars, classical music, a theatrical show and the announcement of the "Diamond of the Season", as it happens in the Netflix original series.

Judging from the photos, the only entertainment there was a lone exotic pole dancer performing to a solo violinist, dinner was over in just an hour, and some of the food was raw.

As a result, fans of the show, who had carefully prepared for the ball, stood in the middle of a bare room at the historic Harmonie Club in Detroit, and the dining tables were set with dishes without flower arrangements.

The event's organizer, Uncle N Me LLC, said it understands "that not everyone had the experience they hoped for at our last event" and they are "working hard to resolve any issues."

It should be noted that the series "Bridgerton", despite its popularity (for example, Jennifer Lopez threw herself a birthday party in the style of this series), was criticized by many for its lack of "historical accuracy", since it featured black actors playing the role of British aristocrats of the Regency era.
