Celine Dion Suspected of Lip-syncing at Paris Olympics
A scandal is brewing around Celine Dion: the 56-year-old Canadian singer is suspected of having lip-synced at the opening of the Summer Olympics in Paris.
Let us recall that Celine has been struggling with a serious illness for several years now - stiff-person syndrome. This disease of the central nervous system causes progressive muscle rigidity, often turning patients into a "living statue". Unfortunately, the severe muscle spasms that the artist experiences prevent her from living and working fully. In 2022, she had to cancel her world tour due to illness.
That is why Celine's performance at the Paris Olympics was such a long-awaited and discussed event for many. The public highly appreciated the singer's musical number, many Internet users expressed their admiration for her. However, now information has appeared that the artist probably performed to a soundtrack at the opening ceremony.
The accusations were made in the French newspaper Libération. The article cited music industry experts who analyzed the soundtrack of the composition L'Hymne à l'amour ("Hymn to Love") and found that the recording did not contain any errors that would have arisen due to bad weather conditions. "It was a 100% soundtrack, you can hear it from the first notes," said composer Etienne Guerau. There was also a theory that the singer's number could have been filmed in advance and then simply aired live.
Celine herself has not yet commented on these accusations. The Olympic Games' artistic director and music director are also silent, although they have previously actively given interviews.
