The death of former member of the popular band One Direction Liam Payne was announced tonight: the 31-year-old singer was found under the windows of a hotel in Buenos Aires. Shortly before his death, the police arrived at the hotel: they were informed that there was an "aggressive man in the hotel who was presumably on drugs."
"At 17:04 (local time - Ed.) a call was received that a person was lying in the courtyard of Casa Sur. At 17:11 an ambulance arrived and declared the man dead, and later we learned that he was a famous singer. Unfortunately, the injuries he sustained as a result of the fall were incompatible with life. He could not be saved," said Alberto Crescenti, a spokesman for the city of Buenos Aires.
As journalists learned, the reason for the suicide could have been the news of his lover Kate Cassidy's betrayal. Apparently, against this background, Liam had a hysterical fit: his room was trashed, the furniture was broken, and according to eyewitnesses, he had previously smashed his laptop. In addition, narcotics were allegedly found in the room, and the musician himself was in an inadequate state. Photos also appeared online showing a broken TV and other damage.
Liam Payne dated Kate for two years, after splitting with his fiancée Maya Henry. They announced their split in 2022, with Maya claiming that Payne had cheated on her. Shortly after the split, she wrote a book in which the heroine dated a rock star who raped her and abused her. Although Maya did not claim that the story was based on real events, many concluded that the girl was talking about her relationship with Payne.
