Carla Bruni congratulates Nicolas Sarkozy on their anniversary

Carla Bruni congratulated her husband, former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, on their anniversary. The 1990s supermodel posted joint photos on her Instagram*.

"17 years ago today, the day I met my beloved Nicolas.... Thank you, fate, for giving us this incredible love... Endless gratitude!" she wrote under the photo.

Sarkozy and Bruni's affair first came to light in 2007, when photos of the model with the recently divorced French president appeared on the website of the French weekly L'Express.

Let us recall that 56-year-old Carla Bruni and 69-year-old Nicolas Sarkozy have been married for 16 years. This is her first marriage, and his third. The couple had a daughter, Giulia, who is now 13 years old.

The couple has rarely appeared in public lately.
