Tried to escape through balcony: new details emerge in Liam Payne's death case
New details have emerged about the mysterious death of One Direction member Liam Payne, who was found dead outside his Buenos Aires hotel room. A month after the investigation began, police say the 31-year-old artist did not commit suicide as previously assumed, but was attempting to escape from the hotel, TMZ reports.
According to CCTV footage, Liam was in the hotel lobby less than an hour before his death, drunk and behaving provocatively. Three employees carried the singer to his room. The police report notes that Liam told them that he did not want to be in the room and would escape through the balcony. Despite this, the employees still left him alone. One of them then called the emergency services, fearing that Payne could harm himself. The artist soon fell from the third-floor balcony, and a bag was strapped to his chest. Liam was wearing a cap, although shortly before, in the lobby, he did not have a hat or bag with him.
This isn't the first time Liam has tried to escape while drunk. Once, the singer's bodyguard got scared when he overdosed on drugs and locked the artist in a room in a rented house in Florida. Then Payne climbed out of a window with a garden hose.
Recall that the lead singer of One Direction Liam Payne died on October 16. In his room, the police found various types of drugs and paraphernalia, presumably for their use. The room also had broken furniture and a TV. Earlier, it was reported that the artist could have committed suicide after learning about the infidelity of his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, who left the room the day before the tragedy. The artist also had several other problems: the Universal Music label terminated his contract, and his ex-fiancée Maya Henry filed a lawsuit due to harassment.
