Billionaires Elon Musk and Bill Ackman Discuss Wedding of Another Billionaire, Jeff Bezos, Who Is Marrying Lauren Sanchez

The upcoming wedding of one of the richest people on the planet, Jeff Bezos, and 54-year-old TV presenter Lauren Sanchez has become a topic of discussion among billionaires. Elon Musk and Bill Ackman responded to rumors that the newlyweds could spend $600 million on the celebration.

Earlier, tabloids reported that the wedding was supposedly to take place in Aspen the weekend after Christmas, that is, this weekend. According to the Daily Mail, the 60-year-old founder of Amazon bought an elite oriental restaurant there, and the ceremony itself will take place at Kevin Costner's ranch located at the resort. The guests, among whom, apparently, will be the business elite and show business stars, are supposedly planned to be accommodated in a five-star hotel.

However, after the publication, Bezos, whose net worth is estimated at $194 billion, personally contacted, denying the information. "This is all completely false - none of this is happening. The old saying 'don't believe everything you see' is truer today than ever," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Not everyone on the Internet understood the businessman's indignation over the leak, because the couple's engagement had previously been reported by major media outlets. According to the press, Bezos proposed to Sanchez on board his $500 million superyacht back in May 2023 and in the presence of Bill Gates, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kris Jenner.

Meanwhile, billionaire Bill Ackman weighed in on the cost of the upcoming "wedding of the year." "It's hard to believe. You can't spend that much money unless you decide to buy each of your guests a house in Aspen," he said in X.

Elon Musk, whose fortune reached $400 billion after the US presidential election, making him the richest man on the planet, did not stand aside. Let us recall that the businessman supported Donald Trump, who ultimately won the election.

"I hope you have a great wedding though. It's nice to know that great things are happening somewhere in the world, even if you're not there. A world where great things happen is better than a world where they don't," Musk wrote.

Bezos and Sanchez's romance began in 2018, when they were both married. As a result, the Amazon founder divorced his wife MacKenzie, with whom he had been married for 25 years and raised three biological and one adopted child. The ex-wife sued Bezos for $35 billion, becoming the fourth richest woman on the planet after that. Sanchez also divorced her husband, with whom she is raising a daughter. Now she regularly posts photos with Bezos on her social networks and talks about her "quiet" life with the billionaire.
