The Internet is discussing the "strange" shape of Nicole Kidman's ears, which may be the result of unsuccessful plastic surgery
Nicole Kidman's unusual ear shape has suddenly become a hot topic of discussion online. Fans of the 57-year-old actress have noticed her stretched earlobes and the fact that she has recently been trying to cover her ears with hair or massive earrings.
Fans who showed particular interest compared photos of Nicole from different years, in which her ears are clearly visible, and noted that their shape has really changed a lot. According to one version, the reason for this is unsuccessful plastic surgery.
This theory is confirmed in a conversation with the Daily Mail by surgeon Mark Solomos. According to him, ears like Kidman's even have their own name: "pixie ears." They are also called "elf" ears or "bat" ears. The doctor explained that this phenomenon is indeed a side effect of poor-quality surgery. The earlobe can stretch if the surgeon touches the upper layers of the skin during the operation, rather than working with the deep structures of the face.
"If the work is done incorrectly, the earlobe can shift. The doctor's job is to fix the ear and make sure that the procedure is aimed at tightening the inner layers of the face, and not at stretching the skin too much," the expert said.
He added that “pixie ears” can be seen on many celebrities, such as Tom Cruise and Demi Moore. Cosmetic dermatologist and facial care specialist Dr. Laura Gage agreed with his colleague’s opinion. She said that ear deformity is a common side effect of facelifts, especially multiple ones, which is more likely to occur in people with thinner skin or poor tissue elasticity.
