Director Rob Reiner and his wife's son is suspected in their murder.

People reports that their son, Nick, is suspected of murdering renowned Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michelle. Nick, 32, had a history of drug problems.

Multiple sources told the publication that Nick killed his parents in their Los Angeles home. Police have not yet confirmed this information. Nick Ryder is currently being questioned, but no one has been detained or arrested in the case.

Many celebrities have publicly expressed their condolences over the deaths of Rob and Michelle Reiner, including Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, and California Governor Gavin News. Actor Elijah Wood stated on Facebook that he was "horrified by the news of the passing" of Reiner and his wife. Sean Lennon and Yoko Ono's son called Reiner "one of the greatest of all time" in a post on Facebook.

The bodies of 78-year-old Rob Reiner and his 68-year-old wife, Michelle, were found by their 28-year-old daughter, Romy, in their Los Angeles mansion. According to media reports, the victims had multiple stab wounds. The perpetrator attempted to cover his tracks by setting the fire.

A spokesperson for the Reiner family confirmed that Michelle and Rob Reiner had died, calling the loss "tragic" and asking for the privacy of the grieving family to be respected.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic death of Michelle and Rob Reiner. We are devastated by this sudden loss and ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time," the spokesperson said in a statement.

Nick Reiner, a screenwriter, has previously spoken openly about his struggles with drug addiction, which began in his teens and ultimately led to him leaving home. However, in a 2016 interview, he stated, "I've been home for a long time now and have kind of gotten used to living in L.A. and being with my family again."

Reiner was one of Hollywood's most renowned film directors and co-founder of the successful production company Castle Rock Entertainment. He directed such iconic films as The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, and A Few Good Men. He played Leonardo DiCaprio's father in The Wolf of Wall Street and appeared in a number of other films.

He's been married to Michelle since 1989; she was an actress and photographer (she also photographed Donald Trump for the cover of his book, "Trump: The Art of the Deal"). In addition to Nick and Romy, the couple also have a 34-year-old son, Jack. Previously, the director was married to actress Penny Marshall; they have an adopted daughter.
