Donald and Melania Trump criticized for "depressing" Christmas card

The White House unveiled its traditional Christmas card featuring Donald and Melania Trump. The photo features the US president and first lady holding hands (a rare occurrence).

Melania, 55, chose a full-length black dress for the photo shoot, accessorizing with pearl earrings and a diamond bracelet. Donald, 79, wore a classic black tuxedo with a bow tie. Commenters on the post noted that the couple's facial expressions clearly didn't convey the celebratory mood, and overall, they looked like they were preparing for a funeral. "How damn depressing," they wrote.

Melania previously wore two striking looks at White House Christmas events.

As a reminder, model Melania Trump (née Knauss) and Donald Trump married in 2005. The couple have a 19-year-old son, Barron. Trump also has four other children from previous marriages. Earlier this year, he became president of the United States for a second term.
