Leonardo DiCaprio became the subject of a viral video from the 2026 Golden Globe Awards ceremony, which took place recently in Los Angeles. Online, the 51-year-old actor is now being dubbed the new "meme king," replacing Ben Affleck, who previously held this unofficial title.

The Oscar winner attended the star-studded event alongside the cast and crew of his acclaimed film "Battle by Battle," which ultimately won Best Picture. And although DiCaprio himself lost to his younger rival, Timothée Chalamet, he didn't seem upset.

He gestured to his eyes, then to the person off-camera, indicating he was "watching" them, before playfully covering his mouth with his finger and laughing.

Online lip readers quickly deciphered DiCaprio's sudden "pantomime": one theory is that the actor was communicating with his co-star Chase Infinity and "discussing" K-pop with her: the actress is allegedly a fan of the genre, and shortly before, the film "K-Pop Demon Hunters" won an award at a ceremony.
