"More explosive than 'The Devil Wears Prada.'" A former Vogue editor has written a "revelatory" novel about the fashion industry.

Former Vogue editor Philippa Finot has written a novel that's already being compared to the cult classic "The Devil Wears Prada." The book, titled "Best Dressed," according to Page Six, contains inside information from an even closer source and is expected to reveal even more secrets from the world of fashion.

"Fino intends to expose the fashion industry in a novel more explosive than The Devil Wears Prada," the resource notes.

Filipa Finot worked as an editor at Vogue for over a decade and, while writing the novel, "received information from someone inside" the magazine's publisher, Condé Nast, a source told the publication. Given her closeness to former American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour (and the numerous photos she recently posted of her on social media), the publication speculates that the new book will also feature a character inspired by Wintour—in the vein of Miranda Priestly from "The Devil."

The names of the characters in the book have been changed, but "designers and models will not be spared," the resource notes. For example, the novel describes in detail Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss's scandalous trip to Cuba in 1998 and their meeting with Fidel Castro. As a reminder, this visit sparked outrage in the United States at the time, as the country was under an embargo on "trade with the enemy."

Анна Винтур

Fino is a fashion industry veteran. Her resume also includes work at Allure and Harper's Bazaar. She left Vogue in 2011. She plans to publish her novel, "Best Dressed," in May.

As a reminder, in 2003, Wintour's former personal assistant, Lauren Weisberger, wrote a novel about the fashion industry, The Devil Wears Prada, which was adapted into a film starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway and cemented Wintour's legend as a cold-blooded and ruthless executive.

It's curious that new revelations about Anna Wintour's tenure come shortly after she left her post after 37 years in office.
