On March 8, music producer Benny Blanco celebrated his 38th birthday. The celebration took place amid controversy over Blanco's dirty feet, which he revealed on the podcast "Friends Keep Secrets," and the subsequent wave of criticism directed at his family. Despite this, Benny, his wife, and friends partied at the Los Candiles club.

In the Stories* Selena shared that evening, she posed in short denim shorts and cowboy boots. Judging by the caption, "Happy birthday, cowboy!", the party was cowboy-themed.

That same day, Gomez posted a series of archived photos with her husband with the caption, "Happy birthday, my love! I love you with all my heart." Benny responded in the comments: "You are the best birthday present I could ever ask for."

After Blanco's controversial podcast "Friends Keep Secrets" aired two weeks ago, Selena and Benny were met with widespread hate. In a video, Blanco showed off his dirty feet and joked about intentionally fouling the air, saying to the camera, "Let's see if the guys notice." Predictably, he faced a wave of backlash. Followers then urged Gomez to leave her husband: "Selena needs to file for divorce and find someone better."

However, the singer, on the contrary, kissed Benny's feet on camera in the next episode of the same podcast. Blanco himself admitted that he's not embarrassed by dirty feet, since he "walks around barefoot a lot," and clean feet are only for those who "do nothing."

It's worth noting that this isn't the first time Blanco has faced hate on social media. Netizens first criticized Benny and Selena's relationship back when the couple first started dating. Back then, the singer's fans were convinced Benny was exploiting the wealthy and successful Selena.

However, Gomez still agreed to marry the producer after his proposal in December 2024. The couple married in a lavish ceremony at Sea Crest Nursery in Santa Barbara in September 2025.
