Ozzy Osbourne's son has given birth to a fifth daughter, named after his late grandfather.
Jack Osbourne, son of legendary rock musician Ozzy Osbourne, has a new addition to his family: his wife, Ari Gerhart, gave birth to a baby girl on March 5. The 36-year-old shared the joyous news on social media, posting a black-and-white photo of the baby girl and revealing her unusual name—Ozzy Matilda, named after her late, famous grandfather.
"Allow me to introduce Ozzy Matilda Osbourne. She's already here, and she's perfect," her father wrote on social media. A toy bat, a symbol inextricably linked to her grandfather's work, lies next to the girl in the photo. One of the most famous and scandalous episodes in Ozzy Osbourne's career involved this animal: he once bit off a bat's head at a concert, mistaking it for a rubber toy.
This is Jack and Ari's second child together: the couple already has a three-year-old daughter, Maple. Jack also has three daughters from his previous marriage to Lisa Stelly: 13-year-old Pearl, 10-year-old Andie, and eight-year-old Minnie. With the arrival of little Ozzy, Jack now has five daughters.
In recent interviews, Jack admitted that the news of his wife's pregnancy, which occurred slightly earlier than planned, helped him cope with the grief of losing his father. "I think it helped me take my mind off things and heal—it was, in a way, a closure. It gave me a little bit of hope," he shared.
However, not all of the family's fans shared Jack's joy over his choice of name. He was met with a wave of criticism on social media. Users are perplexed by the idea of naming a girl after a boy and constantly exploiting the image of the late rocker.
"Is Ozzy really dead? Every day we are reminded of him by either his widow or one of his children," commented one. "Poor child. I hope she uses her middle name."
As a reminder, legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne died in 2025 at the age of 76, leaving behind a rich musical legacy and a large family. In addition to his son, Osbourne is survived by his daughter, Kelly, who has been making frequent tabloid headlines lately. In late February, 41-year-old Kelly, along with her mother, Sharon, attended the Brit Awards, where she accepted a posthumous award for her father. However, instead of being admired, her appearance on the red carpet sparked a wave of criticism: netizens drew attention to her unhealthy thinness. Kelly was forced to publicly defend herself from the haters, explaining that she was going through "the most difficult time of her life." Kelly is currently raising her three-year-old son, Sidney, with her fiancé, Slipknot member Sid Wilson. The couple became engaged in the summer of 2025, right at Ozzy's final concert, less than three weeks before his death.
