Saving the business, not the family: An insider named the reason for the cooling in the marriage of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Amid the scandal within the York family over Prince Andrew's recent arrest, insiders close to Princess Beatrice's husband, Edoardo Mapelli-Mozzi, told the Daily Mail about a rift in their marriage. The couple's rift, according to the publication's sources, stems from the royal family's withdrawal from Mapelli-Mozzi's business.
According to the businessman's friends, there is currently a "noticeable cooling" in his relationship with 37-year-old Princess Beatrice, and although the Queen's granddaughter is "desperately trying to save the relationship," her husband is not making any advances.
This is because, following the scandal surrounding Prince Andrew's arrest (he was arrested and questioned on February 19th for alleged abuse of office), the royal family has distanced itself as much as possible from the York family, meaning that Edoardo Mapelli-Mozzi's firm will no longer receive commissions for the design of mansions from British aristocrats.
When Edoardo Mapelli-Mozzi first began dating Beatrice, he was far from wealthy, and his company, Banda, was suffering significant losses. For example, a year before his marriage to Beatrice, Mapelli-Mozzi's business was £244,000 in the red, but just a year after the wedding, the company's profits reached £774,353.
That's why insiders believe Edoardo married the princess not out of true love, but rather for selfish reasons: "Entering the royal family changed his life. When they first got together, Edo wasn't nearly as successful."
Moreover, the mother of Edoardo's ex-girlfriend, architect Dara Huang, Lily Huang, had previously told reporters that her daughter was shocked by the news of her breakup with Mapelli-Mozzi because it happened suddenly and without explanation.
Thanks to his marriage to Beatriz, Edoardo was able to improve his fortunes and save his company, which was in dire straits. A source close to the entrepreneur described it this way: "This wedding was the kind of publicity money can't buy. Would he have gotten it if he hadn't been Beatriz's husband? Of course not."
But if previously British aristocrats and the rich wanted to work with the Mapelli-Mozzi, now most refuse to cooperate with the Yorks, and Edoardo is now fighting not for the preservation of the family, but for his business.
As a reminder, Beatrice is the daughter of Prince Andrew, who is currently under investigation for abuse of office. British police launched an investigation and arrested Andrew after files on the billionaire pedophile Epstein case were published, in which Andrew is mentioned more than a hundred times. Prior to his arrest, the royal family decided to strip the prince of his title and evict him from his official residence.
In 2020, Princess Beatrice married Italian aristocrat Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. At the time, the businessman already had a child, a son, Christopher, from his relationship with architect Dara Huang, whom Mapelli Mozzi separated from shortly before his wedding. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Beatrice are now raising two daughters together: Sienna and Athena.
