A video has surfaced online of "Knock on My Door" star Hande Erçel, who was arrested in a drug case.

Videos of "Knock on My Door" star Hande Erçel at a police station have surfaced online. Today, the 32-year-old actress was arrested in a drug case: police arrested Erçel at the Istanbul airport and took her to the station for questioning.

The Istanbul prosecutor's office issued an arrest warrant for the Turkish actress yesterday. Hande Erçel learned of the news from press reports while abroad, from where she had to return to Turkey to testify. She has already contacted her fans, posting a statement on social media.

"Due to my studies, I have been abroad for about a month. Last night, like you, I returned to my country to clarify the matter I learned about from the media, make the necessary statements, and give testimony. I am a person who loves my country and trusts my government and the Turkish judiciary. I believe the situation will be clarified as soon as possible," wrote Hande Erçel.

Hande's ex-boyfriend, 35-year-old billionaire Hakan Sabancı, is also charged with illegal drugs. He has already testified in defense of the actress, assuring that "Hande never used drugs in his presence."

An operation to combat illegal substances began in Turkey last October. Birce Akalay, star of the series "Black and White Love," and actors Dogukan Günger from "Cranberry Sherbet" and İsmail Hacıoğlu from "Children of Heaven" have already been arrested. The latter two were stripped of their leading roles following the investigation.

As a reminder, Hakan Sabancı and Hande Erçel dated for two years and even planned to marry, but last year the couple announced their separation. Rumor has it that the mother of the heir to one of Turkey's wealthiest families was against Hande Erçel because of her public lifestyle.
