The "anti-royal" activist who called Kate Middleton's cancer a hoax will be a VIP guest at Meghan Markle's retreat.
Among those invited to a paid women's retreat organized by Meghan Markle was a woman who previously spread false claims on social media that Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis was a "fake," the Daily Mail reports.
In March, it was announced that the Duchess of Sussex would be the star of a three-day, paid women's weekend in Sydney from April 17 to 19. Tickets to the event with Meghan cost approximately $3,000 (244,000 rubles). It's a retreat with lectures, meditation classes, and photos with VIP guests. While users have already criticized Markle's idea of a paid retreat, another problem has arisen. One of the VIP participants at the event will be an "anti-royal" activist who, on social media, called Kate Middleton's cancer a fake.
The activist is known for her harsh criticism of the British royal family on her blog. Previously, she has repeatedly called the Princess of Wales's illness a "masquerade," claiming it was a conspiracy theory. Recently, the same social media accounts revealed that the user had received a VIP seat at an upcoming event with Meghan. This doesn't mean the Duchess of Sussex personally selected the activist to pose with her at the table, much less approves of such comments about her famous relative. However, the fact remains: the Australian will attend the dinner with Meghan Markle.
The news sparked outrage among netizens, who are skeptical of Meghan's lack of involvement in the guest selection. They wrote, "The fact that Meghan personally invited her is simply disgusting," "Meghan, as always, surrounds herself with snakes...," and "I thought the Sussexes would stop being bullied by this woman online. She wrote horrible things while her mother [Kate Middleton] was trying to keep her family together while battling health issues. Shame on everyone who supports this bullying."
As a reminder, Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis was announced on March 22, 2024. That day, the Princess of Wales released a personal video message in which she announced that, following abdominal surgery, tests had revealed the presence of malignant cells. On September 9, Kate announced the completion of chemotherapy, and on January 14, 2025, she officially confirmed that she was in remission.
Since the royal family did not share any details about Kate's illness, many conspiracy theories about her condition arose online: some did not believe that she was ill, while others believed that everything was much more serious than Buckingham Palace claimed.
Royal family fans have been discussing the feud between Meghan and Kate for years. It's believed that after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as royals and moved to the United States, the relationship between the two royals deteriorated completely. This was fueled not only by Meghan and Harry's distance from the family, but also by their numerous public attacks on the Windsors.
