Melissa McCarthy steps out amid Ozempic weight loss rumors

55-year-old "Bridesmaids" star Melissa McCarthy showed off a noticeably slimmer figure at the Fashion Trust US Awards in Los Angeles, sparking further rumors of an Ozempic intervention.

For her public appearance, Melissa chose an Emilio Pucci dress that accentuated her slimmer silhouette. The look immediately fueled speculation on social media that McCarthy might be using the popular weight-loss drug Ozempic. One user wrote, "Looks like she's on Ozempic." Another added, "If so, this is the best Ozempic result ever." However, others noted that McCarthy lacks the characteristic sunken cheeks known as the "Ozempic face." "I think she lost weight the old-fashioned way. She was losing weight before Ozempic was popular," one commenter noted. Melissa is believed to have lost between 75 and 90 pounds over the past few years.

McCarthy herself has never confirmed or denied using Ozempic, but in interviews she has repeatedly insisted that she achieved her results thanks to an active lifestyle and a balanced diet. She said that she does Pilates and boxing and avoids extreme diets. "If I can get rid of stress, take things slow, and stop constantly trying to get somewhere, that will really help," she said back in 2018 on the Breakfast Club radio show.

The actress admitted, however, that she resorted to drastic methods in her youth. While filming "Gilmore Girls," a doctor prescribed her a liquid diet, which helped her lose 70 pounds in four months. "I'll never do that again. I felt exhausted and distraught the whole time," McCarthy admitted in an interview with People.

Rumors about taking Ozempic have dogged the actress for years. Back in 2024, a scandal erupted when the legendary Barbra Streisand publicly asked McCarthy under her social media photo, "Are you taking Ozempic?" Streisand later deleted the comment and explained that she simply wanted to compliment her, "forgetting the whole world was reading this." McCarthy herself didn't take offense and called Barbra a "treasure."

Melissa McCarthy has been married to 52-year-old actor and director Ben Falcone since 2005, and the couple has two daughters.
