44-year-old Britney Spears, who was recently arrested by police for drunk driving, has entered rehab, TMZ reports. The pop star will undergo treatment for alcohol and drug addiction.
According to a source, the singer's loved ones urged her to seek help, especially after the recent incident. She eventually agreed and entered a US rehabilitation center a few days ago. "She realized she'd hit rock bottom. She knows it will make a good impression on the judge—that she's taking this case seriously," the insider said.
The publication reports that Spears has suffered from addictions to prescription drugs and alcohol for many years. A month ago, the star was arrested for drunk driving in California. Following this, Spears' sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, supported her, and the eldest son, who had avoided contact with his mother for many years, even renounced his father, Kevin Federline, as his last name. Federline himself immediately commented on his ex-wife's arrest to the press, claiming to be concerned that what happened to her would not be an isolated incident. Many, incidentally, believe that Federline's tell-all memoir, released last year, led to Britney's legal troubles.
