Nicole Kidman has decided to become a death doula.

Nicole Kidman has decided to become a death doula—a specialist who supports the dying and their families during their final days. "I want to expand my horizons. I want to become a death doula," the actress said at a meeting with students at the University of San Francisco.
According to the 58-year-old actress, she was prompted to make this decision by the death of her mother, Janelle Kidman, who passed away in September 2024: “When my mother was dying, she felt alone, and her family couldn’t always help her.”
Kidman said she and her sisters were very busy with their families and careers, so they couldn't always be by her side during Janelle's final days. But the experience of loss changed Nicole, and she now wants to spend her free time helping others.
At the same time, the actress admitted that she doesn't care what others think of her decision to learn a new profession: "One day, you'll have to come to terms with what people say about you. This is your life, and you determine it yourself. Who cares what others think? Don't give up your power to anyone else. They have no right to define who you are."
Let's remember that in the fall of 2025, exactly one year after the death of the actress's mother, it became known that Kidman was divorcing her husband, rock musician Keith Urban, after 19 years of marriage. Just a few months after the couple's separation, 58-year-old Keith Urban began dating 26-year-old country singer Karly Scott Collins.
Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman is currently dazzling on the red carpet alone. The actress is currently devoting herself entirely to work and raising her and Keith's daughters: 17-year-old Sunday Rose, who is currently pursuing a modeling career, and 14-year-old Faith Margaret. The couple's daughters spend most of their time with their mother, which, according to Keith's friends, greatly upsets their father.
