Meghan Markle posted a video from her trip to Australia, which drew criticism from her and Prince Harry.

Meghan Markle posted a video on her social media from her and her husband, Prince Harry, four-day trip to Australia. In the video, the 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex showed her and her husband visiting sick children and meeting with veterans and survivors of the terrorist attacks.

According to the video, Meghan and Harry were also hiking, and she also filmed herself in her room in front of a window overlooking the sunset and ocean.

During their visit, the couple visited the Royal Children's Hospital—a tribute to Harry's mother, Princess Diana, who visited in 1983. They also took a boat ride. Meghan also spoke at an exclusive women's retreat (and was suspected of being pregnant with her third child), while Harry delivered a speech about mental health at a leaders' summit, where he stated that royal life "killed his mother."

Although Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's trip to Australia was officially billed as a "private and charitable" visit, it sparked heated debate in the country and a wave of criticism on social media.

Critics accused the couple of attempting to "cosplay" official state visits without actually representing the British Crown. An online petition against the use of taxpayer funds also garnered nearly 43,000 signatures: although the Sussexes paid for the trip themselves, the cost of additional police and security during public events sparked public outrage.

Some called Meghan and Harry's trip a "money trip." The prices for Markle's events sparked particular outrage: tickets for her appearance, complete with photo opportunities, cost up to three thousand dollars.

Meghan has also been accused again of attempting to emulate Diana's style and mannerisms (for example, during her visit to a children's hospital), calling it a "cheap imitation." She has also been harshly criticized for saying she is "the most hunted person in the world." This was deemed inappropriate online, especially in light of her meetings with terrorist survivors and sick children. Users are writing that she is "drawing the spotlight" on her personal problems. Finally, social media users are unhappy with the couple's "ostentatious" charity work: many commenters called their trip a PR stunt, pointing out that cameras followed the couple almost everywhere, gathering footage for future projects.

Prince Harry, who is in line for the British throne, and former Hollywood actress Meghan Markle married in 2018. They have two children, son Archie and daughter Lilibet. In 2020, amid a conflict with the royal court, the couple stepped down from their royal duties and left the UK. They settled in the United States and are attempting to develop their own projects, collaborating with Netflix and promoting Meghan's lifestyle brand. However, some of their endeavors have failed, and they have been criticized for attempts to "monetize titles" and hypocrisy.
