"He's been transformed since his wedding with Obolentseva." A rare photo of 62-year-old billionaire Evgeny Shvidler is being discussed online.

A rare photo of 62-year-old billionaire and Roman Abramovich business partner Evgeny Shvidler has surfaced online. Shvidler, long considered one of Russia's most private oligarchs, changed his public profile after marrying socialite Nadezhda Obolentseva. Now, Telegram channels are discussing the businessman's "transformation."

A photo of Shvidler was published by the French newspaper "Le Journal de Saint-Barth", reporting that he opened his own exhibition of paintings in a local gallery: for some time now, the businessman has been performing as an artist under the pseudonym ES23.

After this, Telegram channels noted that Shvidler had noticeably changed: he'd lost weight and grown a brutal stubble. "How Evgeny Shvidler has transformed since his wedding to Nadezhda Obolentseva. He looks like a completely different person in his new photos!" wrote Billions, for example.

Until now, only archival photos of Shvidler, who has always led a private life, could be found online. 42-year-old Obolentseva also, until recently, only posted fragments of photos with her husband on social media.

In early 2025, it became known that Shvidler had married Obolentseva, the founder of the Moscow intellectual club "418," a celebrity in the gossip columns, and a well-known advocate of a healthy lifestyle (she co-founded the yoga and Pilates studio Funny Studio with Svetlana Bondarchuk and Irina Sakhnovskaya). That spring, Nadezhda announced that she and Evgeny had a son, Mark. She had previously been married three times, but this was her first child with Shvidler.

Shvidler (current net worth: $1.6 billion, according to Forbes) was born in Ufa but emigrated to the United States in 1989. He does not have, and never has had, Russian citizenship, yet he is known as Abramovich's "right-hand man": the majority of his fortune was earned through their joint Russian projects (Sibneft, Evraz). He currently heads the investment company Millhouse (created jointly with Abramovich). He was placed under strict UK sanctions shortly after the start of the SVO. It is known that he was previously married and has children.
